What we are

Eversight builds focused iPhone apps. RelicLens is one of them. We do not buy or sell antiques, which means we have no stake in whether the number a report shows you is high or low. The estimate is simply the best read of the market we can give you.

That independence matters, because much of the free valuation advice online is published by someone who would like to buy your piece. Ours is not.

Why we built it

The situation the app is built for is narrow and common: you are holding something, you do not know what it is, and the people who could tell you are not in the room. It happens at estate sales, where you have a few minutes to decide. It happens after a bereavement, when a house full of objects has to be sorted by people who never learned what any of it was.

Until now the options were an appraisal, which costs money and takes time, or a search engine, which needs you to already know what the thing is called. An identifier that works from a photograph answers in the moment you are standing there.

How we build it

The thing that makes a valuation useful is being able to check it, so every report carries the comparable listings the range was drawn from and opens them in your browser. Our methodology page sets out how a report is put together, from the photograph to the range.

How the app treats your things

Your collection is yours alone. There is no account and no sign-in, and reports and their images live on your device rather than on a server we control, so what you scan stays private to you. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is sent where.
